Finally, gospel singer Wainaina has a kidney

By , August 17, 2021

America-based Kenyan gospel artiste and saxophonist Gerriey Wainaina is a happy man, after he got a call at the weekend confirming he had secured a kidney.

Speaking to Spice yesterday morning, the elated singer intimated that a three-hour kidney transplant procedure had been scheduled for early today at the Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Washington.

“Let’s all pray for a successful surgery. A fresh start will be awesome,” he said.

The procedure will cost a whopping Sh27.3 million (US$250,000). Wainaina has been undergoing dialysis for over four years following a stage five renal inflammation diagnosis that had left his kidneys operating at only nine per cent.
