Water CS nominee Eric Muriithi on how he will use sensitization to improve ministry

Water Cabinet Secretary nominee Eric Muriithi has announced plans to use sensitization to improve the water sector and enhance appreciation for agriculture as a vital economic activity.
Speaking during his vetting at County Hall, Muriithi emphasized the importance of taking agriculture seriously as an income-generating sector.

He plans to partner with the Ministry of Education to start sensitization efforts at the school level, encouraging irrigation and sustainable farming practices through 4K clubs and projects like micro-irrigation.
“If approved by this house, I would start by sensitization. We need to appreciate that agriculture is not a by-the-way. It is an economic activity that generates income. I would work with the Ministry of Education on projects such as micro-irrigation that the ministry is rolling out, where we sink boreholes and give the opportunity to clubs such as 4K clubs to irrigate for sustainable farming,” he stated.
