Environment CS Tobiko hits out at DP Ruto
Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko has blasted Deputy President William Ruto, calling him a beneficiary of irregular allocation of land deals in the country adding that he is not fit to be elected as president in the August polls.
Speaking while issuing title deeds in Narok West Sub-county, the CS warned the Maasai community against electing leaders allied to Ruto since according to him, the leaders in question did not bring notable changes during their stint.
While attacking Ruto over ownership of various parcels of land, the CS also drummed up support for the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga.
“There is a shortage of fools in Maa Nation and Kenya as large, he should stop lying to Kenyans through his political antics. Ruto will go back to Sugoi his home in Nandi as early as 10 am on August 9,” he stated.
“Anaitwa arap mashamba, kwa sababu akiona shamba halina mwenyewe ananza kumwaga mate!”
While praising the government for issuing the title deeds, the CS revealed that the Jubilee administration is committed to distributing over 1 million title deeds countrywide before the August general elections to caution private and public land from grabbers.
Tobiko further lambasted the candidature of Narok county governor Samuel Tunai to the senate citing integrity issues, conflict of interest and ‘cover-up’ during an audit of the county’s accounts covering their reign should they be elected.
“We are already raising integrity questions and Audit quarries over expenditure of over sh120 billion for Narok county in the last 10 years while tunai was in leadership, if elected to the senate and his choice for governor comes in, both could engage in massive cover-ups whenever questions are raised regarding expenditure in the counties during their tenure, so lock this people out,” Tobiko said.
Also campaigning for Kenta, he said those who will vote in the coming elections are duty-bound to protect the interests of this country as well as interests of those who are not eligible to vote, by making wise decisions.
CS Tobiko issued 1,022 title deeds part of the 1 million land documents released by president Uhuru Kenyatta to be distributed countrywide. He urged voters not to gamble with the future of Kenya by electing wrong leaders next month.
He praised president Uhuru Kenyatta for issuing over 6 million title deeds in his term in office, more than the last three presidents combined from independed who issued 5 million land documents.
“I urged voters not to be carried away by political waves without first considering what those seeking the various seats will do for them if elected, Don’t put yourself in a position where future generations will blame you because of the decision you will make at the ballot box in August. Those yet to attain the age of 18 and in need of government support are looking up to you to give them that government” he added.
The land document issuance was the second by the Government through the department of Lands after issuing 2, 660 title deeds to an Oloolturot group in Mosiro ward early this month.
Both Tobiko and Kenta urged residents to use the document to boost them economically, warning them of the careless sale of land.
“All family members should be involved in any sale of land. Both parents should sit down with their adult children and consult widely before making the decision to sell a piece of land,” advised Kenta.
Kenta echoed government efforts to guarantee the ownership of land to the community but said the document has become a source of poverty to many families as men sell the land and squander the money leaving the rest of the family landless.
The Narok North MP asked residents to make the right decision on the voting day and elect leaders who have a credible track record who will grow the economy of the county and country at large.
Narok County Commissioner, Isaac Masinde, on his part, asked residents to protect all the land reserved for public utilities by reporting attempts to grab the said parcels of land to his office.
