‘Embrace Court’s decision on LGBTQ’ – Kericho clergyman Father Ambrose urges Kenyans

In what can be described as going against the grain, Father Ambrose Kimutai, the father in charge of the Catholic church, Tegat Parish, Kericho Diocese, has differed with the rest of the clergy over the LGBTQ court of appeal ruling that gave the group the right to form and register associations

According to Father Ambrose, the Supreme Court followed the law in making the ruling adding that he is not protecting the LGBTQ acts but the supreme court of the land from attack from the clergy and members of the public whom he claimed seemed not to clearly understand the ruling.

“The LGBTQ group went to court because the NGOs board disregarded their request to register them. The apex court followed the constitution of the land, they are human beings and their rights should be observed,” Father Ambrose explained.

The man of God further stated that ruling was after protecting their rights and not their actions as homosexuals or lesbians and urged the clergy to embrace them.

Father Ambrose urged the church and Kenyans to embrace the community and preach to them so they can abandon their behaviour.
