Education Cabinet secretary George Magoha has now withdrawn his case against the embattled University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor Stephen Kiama.

Justice Maureen Onyango yesterday marked the case as settled after the two reached an agreement.

This is a huge relief to Prof Kiama whose appointment had been revoked by  Magoha.

UoN Council chair Prof Julia Ojiambo had announced Prof Kiama’s appointment earlier in January.

But Prof Magoha revoked it, saying procedures were not followed and disbanded the council. Employment and Labour Relations Court suspended Magoha’s decision after Kiama filed a case in court.

The new VC had contended that the CS has no power in law to revoke his appointment.

The judge allowed the CS and  Kiama to negotiate and resolve the leadership crisis out of court.
