Duke Abuya opens scoring account in CAF Confederation Cup
Harambee Stars' Duke Abuya and Joash Onyango kicked off their CAF Confederations Cup campaign in style, securing a 4-1 victory against Jeshi la Kujenga Uchumi Sports Club at Chamazi Complex on Saturday.
Both Kenyan players, currently on loan deals, were given starts in the match against the Zanzibar side.
Duke Abuya's goal
Singida started the game strongly, taking a fourth-minute lead through Marouf Tchakei before he added another goal from the penalty spot in the 39th minute.
Maurice Chukwu extended the lead to 3-0 just before halftime. 
Duke Abuya marked his debut for the club with a goal, cutting in from the left side and beating the JKU keeper, bringing the score to 4-0.
JKU managed to pull one back but faces a significant challenge as they head into the return leg next week.
Other CAF CC matches
In other CAF Confederations Cup fixtures, Kakamega Homeboyz will face Al-Hilal at Nyayo Stadium, while Clube Ferreoviaro de Maputo takes on Belle Lumiere.
Later in the day, Stade Malien faces a tough battle against Watanga, and Casa Sport will have a tricky encounter against Etoile Filante. 
The return leg fixtures will take place from August 24th, concluding the first round of preliminary stages.
