Development projects in Kiambaa to be completed despite Jubilee defeat, MP assures residents

The national government has assured Kiambaa residents of completing all development projects in the area, especially roads that were started during by-elections campaigns.

This is according to Kiambu township MP Jude Njomo who is also a member of the budget committee in the National Assembly.

Njomo dismissed allegations that some of the contractors who were on site have withdrawn their machinery.

“The Jubilee government that I serve for the second consecutive terms cannot practice such dirty politics. Yes, we lost the seat but the president had promised to rehabilitate 90 kilometres of road across Kiambaa constituency and that promise had no strings attached,” Njomo said.

The legislator disclosed this while inspecting various projects in Gacharage, Gachie and Karura Villages.

This comes few days after reports emerged that a Chinese contractor who had been awarded the contract had begun removing his machines out of the site.

However, some of the residents from Karura insists that they will wait and see whether the government will fulfil its promises or not.

“Roads projects were funded before the demise of our MP the late Paul Koinange and we fail to understand how the by-elections can divert what were supposed to be for Kiambaa”, Peter Mwangi one of Karura residents said.
