The much-anticipated Big Deal Concert that is slated for this Saturday has been moved from the Kenyatta International Convention Centre to the Impala Grounds, along Ngong Road, Nairobi.

Jamaica’s top reggae and dancehall artistes Chris Martin, D Major and Future Fambo, who jetted into the country on Tuesday morning, will headline the show.

According to the organisers, the change of the venue was due to security and weather concerns.

“Following the unpredictable weather and rains that have rocked the city, we have decided to change the venue to Impala Grounds. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and promise the fans a great experience featuring the best of international and local music, food and lifestyle,” read a statement from the organisers.”

The concert is a collaboration endorsed as a result of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports of Jamaica during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s state visit early this year to the Caribbean country.

The MoU seeks to encourage the participation of cultural and creative practitioners in festivals and enhance strong cultural links between Kenya and Jamaica.

Also in performance will be Kenya’s Bensoul, Elani, Masauti, KRG the Don, Havoc and J Fam, among others.
