Delivered from the jaws of death!

So far, over 120,000 people have recovered from Covid-19 disease in Kenya and it has been a unique experience for each one of them.
“Why I’m I sharing this? Because I want you to know there is a God who hears and answers our prayers. Majority have lost their loved ones but God has kept you. It’s just by His Mercy.”
These are the words of Sue Muhindi, a journalist, who says she had a nerve had a nerve wracking experience when she contracted Covid-19 last year.
Muhindi says no words can express the gratitude she has for God for healing her of the deadly disease, Covid-19 which has robbed people their loved ones.
On the evening of July 26, Muhindi received news that the Covid-19 test she had taken had turned positive on a day that one of the highest numbers recorded in the country.
“I recall my sister posting in our family WhatsApp group asking, “Have you guys seen todays figures?” The numbers are extremely high…Little did she know that I was part of those statistics,” narrates Muhindi.
When her doctor called her to relay the new, the first thing he wanted to know was whether she was in a position to talk.
Since she was not in a position to talk at that particular time, she gave her a chilling feeling and could not wait to get home to call back her doctor.
“I had previously heard that once you receive a call, you are Covid-19 positive and that they would send an e-mail if negative. I remember I was on phone with my doctor and here I was preaching and rebuking the disease even before I was given the news,” she says.
The fact that the doctor was a believer made things easy for her and all he did was respond with an Amen after everything I said – and that was a positive thing for me.
He then asked her what she was feeling and she said she did not have any thing strange was surprised that the test came positive.
‘That is how the virus is reacting to a number of people, you either have symptoms or no symptoms at all,” the doctor explained.
It then came to mind that weeks before she tested positive, she had some irritating dry cough and felt tired all the time but no fever whatsoever.
So the virus was already in the body without her knowledge!
However, she was convinced that by the time of getting tested the virus was subsiding – the irritating cough was minimal and would only happen intermittently.
“But guys let me tell you there were nights I could not sleep. The cough would just drive me nuts! It would always attack me at night at around 2am to 3 am. I hated when the air was crisp…it had to be moist for me to be able to rest,” she says.
“The irritation and the overwhelming feeling on my chest was at times unbearable. At that time, I had lemongrass and I would inhale it and feel kind of relieved. But one night I just cried out to God. I reminded Him how I started the year, the declarations I made with my bishop,” she adds.
According to her, one of her declarations was against premature deaths in her family, that good health and sound mind be their portion.
“I reminded Him of who He calls Himself – The Great Physician, the Mighty God. I would ask God, if your Spirit abides in me, how then can sickness be in my body?
Aaaah guys, I decreed and declared. I put the bible verses that I know in my heart to test,” she says.
She said that raising a banner of worship in her house gave her new breath.
It was time to reflect and reading the word gave her strength and more than ever, understand why the Word is sharper than any double edged sword.
“The Word sure is a weapon. It is active. I have tested it not once, not twice, not thrice but on several occasions and it always performs its work. For sure, Jesus is the Truth. Let me tell you when you are in a point of desperation, and God is all you got, be assured He will come through for you,” she adds.
She said she heeded to doctors’ advise, kept doing cardio exercises just to keep her heart and body active.
She was declared Covid-19 free and was not only grateful to God but also the people who supported her in her healing journey.
