Sports Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ababu Namwamba has hailed the country’s sports trajectory saying that the bottom-up approach has contributed to its immense success.

“Our sports is on a great trajectory as a country and that is because of the bottom-up approach we have taken to go back to the basics, invest in grass root, the youth, talent centres academies,” he stated.
The CS went on to state that the event has been successful and brought unity across the country.
At the same time, Namwamba stated that the event has drawn attention to the government’s key agenda on climate through the plantation of trees.
“The Ministry of Sports is delighted to be a partner with all the other partners that have made it possible for us to deliver a truly incredible fast great Chepsaita cross-country run. We can all say the first Chepsaita run has been a big success for bringing us together,”
“This run has also drawn attention to the environment, we have planted trees, and we have drawn attention to one of the key agendas of his excellency President William Ruto which is climate change adaptation,” he said.
“Chepsaita is particularly a big success story because it has manifested the spirit of our flagship agenda, the Talanta Hela,” he added.
