CS Mbadi meets US diplomat to discuss impact of Trump’s orders on Kenya

In a statement shared on the National Treasury official X account on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, disclosed that the meeting focused on recent Executive Orders signed by the U.S. President and their potential implications for Kenya.
“CS Hon.FCPA John Mbadi, EGH, this morning held discussions with Marc Dillard, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. at the U.S. Embassy in Kenya ( @USAmbKenya), (@USEmbassyKenya ). Their discussions covered recent Executive Orders signed by the U.S. President and their potential implications for Kenya,” the National Treasury statement reads.

Issues discussed
One of the key issues discussed was the temporary 90-day suspension of certain foreign aid programs as part of a broader review, that aims to assess the effectiveness of these programs and ensure their alignment with U.S. foreign policy priorities.
CS Mbadi and the Chargé d’Affaires also explored the possible effects of the suspension, particularly on development programs and organizations operating in Kenya.
