Court dismisses bid to stop Waiguru’s impeachment

By , June 11, 2020

The High Court on June 11 dismissed a bid by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru seeking to stop her impeachment.

Justice Weldon Korir declined to overturn the bid saying the County Assembly of Kirinyaga did not violate any court order as Waiguru claimed.

Waiguru had moved to the court to stop her impeachment on grounds her County Assembly was ordered by the court to stop.

Further, the High Court ordered Waiguru to pay for the cost of the case.
