County reclaims salaries from illegally employed workers

By , May 25, 2023

Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo has embarked on the process of recovering salaries and allowances earned by county employees who may have been either illegally employed or irregularly promoted.

Nyaribo made the commitment in a meeting with more than 3,000 workers of the devolved government at the Nyamira County Referral Hospital grounds where he issued an official communication about the intended procedure which he termed as essential in improving service delivery.

Salary reduction

While making the announcement, Nyaribo told the workers that official letters to individuals who are earmarked for the looming salary deduction and demotion were ready and that they will be required to appear before a special Committee that has already been constituted to probe them.

“We shall treat the people who are going to be affected individually and all that we shall do is to make the procedure as humane as possible,” the governor said.

The employees who are facing the legal recovery of finances were told the process will be made in a manner that will ensure they are not deprived of their basic earnings.
