Coronavirus: Six more test positive as one succumbs in Siaya

The Health Ministry through the National Emergency Response Committee(NERC) has confirmed six more coronavirus cases, bringing the total to 197 by April 12.

Five of the new cases were male and one female. Nairobi had four cases, Mombasa and Siaya one each.

The Ministry said two had recently travelled to Middle East. The rest cases are believed to have been infected locally.

In the six cases, only one was from the surveillance team, the rest were from the mandatory quarantine centers.

Still in the last 24 hours, one Covid-19 patient has succumbed in Siaya, bringing to eight the total deaths.

Kenya has so far tested 7,449 samples, 7,252 of which have turned negative.
