Coronavirus: Ministry applauds Kwale as 278 more test positive

The Health Ministry on Saturday applauded Kwale County for its preparedness in combating Covid-19. Ministry officials toured the county where they confirmed 278 more cases in the country.
Accompanied by Government Spokesman Cyrus Oguna, Health Ministry Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangangi said Kwale has demonstrated a good fight against coronavirus.
“Kwale has trained 1,119 healthcare professionals on Covid-19 management and recruited 160 additional healthcare professionals,” she said.
She also commended the county for surpassing the 300-minimun isolation beds capacity with 124 more beds.
Kwale was among the counties affected by the cessation of movement over high corona cases.
At the coast county, the Ministry confirmed 278 more cases which brought the total number of cases in the country to 9726.
Also, the Ministry reported 99 recoveries, bringing the total to 2832.
Still, Ms. Mwangangi announced three fatalities. Total fatalities in Kenya now stand at 184.
