Chris Wamalwa blames Devolution CS over arrest of Ford Kenya MCA

By , September 4, 2020

Kiminini Member of Parliament Chris Wamalwa has accused Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa of frustrating him in his quest to succeed Trans Nzoia County Governor Patrick Khaemba by using the police to harass and intimidate his supporters.

In a statement to the media in Kitale during an interview on Friday, the lawmaker cited the case where Ford Kenya nominated MCA Rogers Barasa was arrested on ‘flimsy charges’ framed against him and others who are alleged to have roughed up Sitatunga MCA Daniel Kaburu a fortnight ago.

“The CS and his close confidant Kakai wa Bissau are misusing the police in making unfamiliar decisions to incarcerate those opposed to their whims. The inspector general of police must stop them,” he said.

He argued that the arrest of the nominated MCA was not in accordance to the law since the DPP had not okeyed the arrest and told the CS to stick to his lane.

The combative legislator warned that he would table a censorship motion against the CS and other public servants for involving themselves in politics at the expense of serving the public.
