Caroli Omondi unveiled as Linda Mwananchi’s spokesperson
Suba South Member of Parliament (MP) Caroli Omondi has been unveiled as the Linda Mwananchi movement’s spokesperson going forward.
The announcement was officially made by Kitutu Chache South MP Anthony Kibagendi, who was hosting the movement in his constituency on Friday, July 3, 2026.
The MP stated that Caroli Omondi will now be the person speaking on behalf of the movement and will help in convincing other leaders within the broader opposition to join the Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna-led movement.

“Kwanzia leo, Caroli Omondi ndiye msemaji wetu; yeye ndiye atatusaidia kupata marafiki wengine waingie kwa mrengo huu wetu.”
Caroli’s Azimio role
The appointment comes just days after Omondi was installed as the official spokesperson and secretary-general of the revived Azimio la Umoja coalition following changes made by former President Uhuru Kenyatta. He is also expected to serve as the coalition’s parliamentary group leader.
Since then, Caroli Omondi has assumed his duties and has been speaking on behalf of Azimio la Umoja, outlining the coalition’s strategies following its defeat in the 2022 General Election, when its presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, narrowly lost to President William Ruto.
Even before his appointment as Linda Mwananchi spokesperson, Omondi had been speaking on behalf of the movement. Most recently, he revealed that there were plans to support one of the opposition candidates in the Ol Kalou by-election to ensure the seat is won by the opposition and not by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate, Samuel Muchina.
Linda mwananchi Kisii tour
This comes during its initial stopover during the Linda Mwananchi Gusii tour edition

The Linda Mwananchi movement is scheduled to hold four more stopovers across the Gusii region. After Kitutu Chache South, the team is expected to proceed to Keroka Town, Keumbu, before culminating the day’s activities with a major rally in Kisii Town.
The movement has also expressed fears that goons could be deployed to disrupt its activities, alleging that a senior Kisii political leader is behind the alleged plans.
