Caleb Amisi calls out Mudavadi, Wetangula for failing Western region
Saboati Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has called out Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and his counterpart National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula for failing the Western region.
Speaking during a radio interview on a local radio station on Monday, June 3, 2024, Amisi said that the Western region is yearning for a new dispensation of young energetic leaders.
Adding that both Mudavadi and Wetangula despite being in power for over 40 years, the region has been left into oblivion.
“This is the last time you are going to hear about Mudavadi this is the last time you are going to hear of Wetangula there comes a time when a generation raised to do what needs to be done they had an opportunity for 40 years and they have left the region into oblivion,” he said. 
Amisi further claimed that there is no single referral hospital in the western region, and the healthcare system has collapsed forcing the community members to seek health treatment in the nearby counties.
“There is no single factory in western regions there are no permanent schools that are well in terms of infrastructures, health systems are all collapsed in a community of more than 7.5 million there is no single referral hospital,” he stated.
“The only referral hospital near is in Kisumu and Eldoret or Kenyatta there is no big referral hospital in the western and all the health sectors have collapsed,”.

Infrastructures, job opportunities
Amisi went on to say that sugar factories in the western region have collapsed under the watch of Mudavadi and Wetangula adding that luhyas employed in the government and parastatal are less compared to their population.
“All the sugarcane factories Nzoia and Mumias have collapsed under their watch, and most people from western the don’t get opportunities to work for the government because they don’t have godfathers, the representation of Luhyas in police, in army, in NIS in parastallels in any government agencies is a drop in the ocean compared to their population in the country,” he said.
“Mudavadi can’t take the Luhya community anywhere while for wetangula , Lakini kina wetangula wamekuwa ni wao na tumbo zao, ndio unaona waluhya wako Kibera na Kangemi Kawangware hawezi saidia waluhya ukiwa pahali saidia wenzako huwezi pata waluhya Australia , Dallas washintone kwa sababu hawana mtu wakuwashika mkono”. 
Adding that the only way to show unity in the western region is through empowerment.
"Mudavadi ni Waziri wa foreign affairs na hajaweka watu wake kuwea ambasodors wakati atatoka atakuja kuwaambia Luhya unity in terms of development na yeye ako kwa serikali the only way to show unity is to show them the importance of power," he explained.
