Kisumu All Starlets and Bunyore Starlets are out to wrap up their first leg of the 2021/2022 FKF Women Premier League in style by winning their weekend’s fixtures.

Bunyore lost 4-0 in their last weekend’s encounter to leaders Vihiga Queens and will be out to bounce back when they host Gaspo Women at Mumboha Stadium, Luanda.

Bunyore is playing their maiden appearance in the topflight league have won four matches and lost six yet the team manager Zacharia Amakhang’a is positive they’re going for maximum points.

“Despite our frequent injuries which will rule some few players out, we’re optimistic of winning and wrap up our first leg on a high,” Amakhang’a said.

Kisumu Starlets on the other hand, have struggled in their ten matches they have played so far, sitting tenth and in the relegation zone with only nine points from three wins and seven defeats.

However, they won their last weekend’s match by beating Kayole Starlets 2-0, and are keen to build on their win and steer clear of the chopping board by beating visitors and fifth-placed Ulinzi Starlets when they host them at Moi Stadium Kisumu.

“My girls are good and the good thing is that training is a full house, so about today’s game, we will approach it as if it’s our do or die game. One game a time till we pick up ourselves,” Kisumu All-Starlets team manager Beryl Oketch told People Sport. Elsewhere, leaders Vihiga Queens will be out to extend their lead when they take on bottom of the table Kangemi Ladies at Mumias Sports Complex in today’s 1pm early kick-off

Vihiga are yet to taste defeat since the league started having won eight and drawn once in nine outings this season and are six points clear of their nearest challengers and reigning champions Thika Queens who are away to face off with host Trans Nzoia Falcons at ASK Grounds, Kitale.
