He was later transferred to an unknown destination and efforts to see her husband have been futile.
Fridah went on to say that she later discovered that her husband was being detained at Wang’uru police station in Mwea.
“Yesterday in the evening he called me around 11 pm and he told me he was at the airport he had just landed, and he is being detained by the DCI and arrested. He told me he will try to call me after that which he hasn’t because his phone went off and has been off ever since.
” From today morning I have been searching for him, I started at the DCI headquarters and I was directed to go to the airport, the police station but he was not there. I went to Muthaiga police station, Gigiri, Kilimani, Embakasi police stations he was not there,” she stated.
Adding: “I went back to the airport, a lot of running around trying to find him. Finally, I was given information that he was in Wang’uru police station in Mwea.”
Fridah additionally pointed out that trying to get into contact with her husband at the station was a daunting task. She revealed that officers at the station denied her entry and permission to give her husband food and medicine as he was not feeling well.
“There was a lady that took me aside, I was begging them that all I wanted was to give my husband food and some medicine cause he was not feeling well on Monday. They refused me entry in fact they carried me out of the gate. There were many police officers present and I was able to ascertain that indeed my husband was in Wang’uru police station in Mwea,” she stated.
Further, the lawmaker’s wife appealed to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga and the Azimio la Umoja -One Kenya coalition to help facilitate the release of her husband.
She also asked the President William Ruto-led administration to intervene and release her husband
“The problem is we have information that he is likely to be transferred now that we know where he is. This is my plea to the Azimio team and Raila Odinga, my husband has done nothing but fight for the rights of Kenyans and there is absolutely nothing wrong that he did to warrant the arrest,” she stated.
“To the government of coursee you are the ones holding him illegally because he has done nothing wrong and all I wanted as a wife is to give my husband food,” she added.
