‘Pray for your husbands instead of Kenyans’ – Babu Owino urges Rachel Ruto, Pastor Dorcas
Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino has called on first lady Rachel Ruto and second lady Dorcas Gachagua to pray for their husbands.
In a video shared by the MP via his official Instagram account, Babu said the two officials should launch prayer sessions for their husbands; President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.
Babu Owino, while claiming that Kenyans do not need prayers from Ruto and Gachagua's spouses, stressed that the two should focus on praying for their ‘problematic’ husbands.
"You don't need to pray for Kenyans nor people, pray for your husbands, the problem is in your house. The problem is not outside the door, you are living with the problem. Look near you you will see the problem," he stated.
Babu also called on the President to stop turning a blind eye to the problems of Kenyans and accused him of denying Kenyans their fundamental human rights through extra-judicial killings and the high costs of living.
The lawmaker warned that the President will go down if he insists on increasing the cost of living for Kenyans.
"A good leader is one who ensures his people do not suffer. A leader who subjects his people to suffering is one who is going for personal interests. How will you explain to Kenyans that you are the same person fighting for their rights and against extrajudicial killings?
"I can assure you that if you enforce heavy taxes on your people you are meant to go down. You will go down, it doesn't matter who is the messenger. You can destroy the messenger but the message," he stated.
He further assured Kenyans that the opposition will continue to fight for their right.s.
"We will continue fighting To Kenyans we will always fight for you. To journalists, we thank you very much for being on the side of the people,"
