Here is what you need to know in order to get up to speed with today’s happenings.

Senate Health Commitee

The Senate Committee on Health is scheduled to hold a stakeholder engagement meeting with the Ministry of Health, Council of Governors, County Assemblies Forum and the Kenya Health Professionals Oversight Authority today from 10.00 am.

The purpose of the meeting is to receive oral submissions on the Community Health Services Bill, 2023

The venue of the meeting will be the First Floor Boardroom, Red Cross Building.

City Stadium

Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja will today commission the groundbreaking of Joe Kadenge ground, formerly city stadium, earmarked for construction.

Shakahola massacre

The Senate Ad hoc Committee investigating the Shakahola deaths will today hold meetings with the Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin, Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor and Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo.

The venue of the meetings will be County Hall, Mini Chamber, starting at 9:00 am.

Maize subsidy

The National Assembly is today expected to adopt the report of the Departmental Committee on Agriculture and Livestock on its inquiry into the Maize flour subsidy Programme for the Financial Year 2022/23, which was laid on the Table of the House on June 7, 2023.
