Arsenal fans visit Kang’o Ka Jaramogi to pay homage to Raila Odinga
By Joel Masibo, October 26, 2025Arsenal Football Club fans drawn from across Kenya converged at the home of the former Prime Minister, the late Raila Odinga, to pay homage to the country’s second PM at the Kang’o ka Jaramogi, where he was laid to rest on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
Until his demise, Raila Odinga was a staunch supporter of the English Premier League side, more often pictured watching the Gunners play at their iconic Emirates Stadium.

In a statement seen by the People Daily Digital on Sunday, October 26, 2025, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, a political outfit that Raila Odinga founded in 2005 and led until his last breath, confirmed the development.
”Arsenal fans from across the country were this morning at Kang’o ka Jaramogi to pay homage to their fellow Gunner, the late Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga. The late Odinga was a paid-up member of the Arsenal FC was an ardent supporter and fan of the team,” ODM party said.
Elsewhere, Turkana leaders paid emotional tribute to Raila Odinga, vowing loyalty to the ODM legacy.
AFTV mourns Raila Odinga
The local Arsenal fans’ visit to Raila Odinga’s home comes days after Arsenal Fan TV joined Kenyans and other mourners across the world to mourn the death of Kenya’s of the former PM.

AFTV, founded by Robbie Lyle, is a widely recognised platform that brings together Arsenal supporters for club updates and interactions. At the time of his demise on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Raila Odinga was a great supporter of the Gunners.
Following his support towards Arsenal, AFTV joined Kenyans at large in their last respects to Raila Odinga during his state funeral held at the Nyayo National Stadium on Friday, October 17, 2025. AFTV also shared the old photo of Raila Odinga with his daughter Winnie Odinga and son Raila Odinga Junior at the Emirates Stadium, taken during one of Arsenal’s matches.

”Everyone at AFTV is deeply saddened by the passing of former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga. As a passionate Arsenal supporter and a friend to our community, his warmth and commitment inspired many. His legacy will live on, not only among Arsenal fans but across Kenya, where his leadership and love for the game touched countless lives. Rest in peace, Mr Odinga. Thank you for being an incredible part of the Arsenal family,” AFTV said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will be welcoming Crystal Palace at the Emirates, seeking to cement their position at the helm of the EPL standings on Sunday, October 26, 2025, starting 5:00 pm local time.
