All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi has hosted a memorial service for those who lost their lives during the anti-Finance Bill protests.

The service was in the afternoon on Sunday, July 7, 2024, with Kenyans thronging the church to send their tributes and eulogise victims of the protests.

During the service, calls for justice filled the air with the preachers and the congregants insisting that the young people did not have to die while fighting for a better country.

“These young people who have died are not just names, they are not just statistics, they have families,” canon Evans Omollo stated.

Release all protesters

During the service, peachers at the All Saints Cathedral called on President William Ruto’s administration to release those who have been arrested during the protests.

“We call upon the release of all those held in prison and those who are held in police stations unconditionally without any charge because they have done nothing wrong,” Canon Omollo added.
