FKF Premier League side AFC Leopards is gearing up for the 2024/25 season with a preseason friendly match scheduled in Uganda.
The team will face Express FC on August 16 in Kampala, marking an important step in their preparations for the upcoming campaign.
AFC Leopards plans
This friendly match will be part of the opening ceremony for the newly refurbished Nakivubo Stadium. In conjunction with this event, AFC Leopards plans to unveil new signings and a new team kit shortly.
“We will then travel to Kampala, Uganda, for a friendly match against Express FC. Plans are also underway to unveil the club’s new signings and new team kit,” the club announced in a statement.
Currently, the team is in Mumias, Kakamega County, following mandatory medical tests conducted in Nairobi as they began their pre-season preparations in mid-July.
The Leopards are set to spend 10 days in Mumias, where they will play a series of friendlies to build match fitness ahead of the new season.
“We kicked off our preseason on July 14 in Nairobi, with the team undergoing mandatory medicals. On August 5, the team shifted to Mumias, Kakamega County, for a 10-day residential camp. A series of friendly matches have also been lined up in Western Kenya as part of the preseason program,” the statement added.
The new season is set to kick off on August 24, 2024, with AFC Leopards visiting the newly promoted Mathare United at Dandora Stadium.
In addition, the club will hold its gala event on August 21, 2024, just before the season begins.
