“Acting on intelligence, our officers apprehended a man, who has been linked to a series of robbery incidents in Maralal and its surroundings,” the DCI said in a statement posted on X on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

The man is claimed to have been part of a gang that stormed a local shop armed with an AK-47 rifle. The two men first posed as ordinary customers before drawing their weapons on the cashier.

The woman was rushed to Samburu County Referral Hospital. Doctors treated her and later discharged her in stable condition. Police said the attackers fled the scene with Ksh50,000 after the incident.
