Kiambu County Assembly Speaker Stephen Ndichu has led the swearing-in ceremony for Muguga ward representative Githinji Mung’ara who emerged victorious in the by-elections held on July 15.

Mung’ara’s inauguration was held at Kiambu Assembly in presence of other MCAs who were physically present for the first time in several weeks since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

Members have been meeting and working virtually.

Addressing the floor of the house after his swearing-in, Mung’ara has vowed to ensure all the projects that were started by his predecessor the late Eliud Ngige alias Thithia are completed.

“I thank all Muguga residents for voting me in and I promise that I will ensure all the projects under county government are completed within the stipulated time,” Mung’ara promised.

He pledged to unite Muguga residents following the hotly contested by-election.

“Besides following up on development projects, I will try my best to unite all divergent parties to ensure we are working together for a common goal to transform Muguga ward,” he assured.

His swearing incomes just a year to the next General Elections where Kenyans will be heading to polls to elect leaders.
