Margaret Nyakango has been sworn in as the second Controller of Budget (CoB) for a term of 8 years replacing Agnes Odhiambo whose term ended on August 27.
Speaking on Wednesday while swearing her in, Chief Justice David Maraga challenged the newly appointed CoBO to be vigilant and ensure that taxpayer’s money is spent prudently.
“ You have a tough responsibility to ensure that all government institution across board have spent taxpayers in a transparent manner. It is a difficult task. Every Kenyan is watching you,” said Maraga.
In a ceremony that lasted for about five minutes, Maraga also asked Nyakango to always follow the law while authorizing the withdrawal of money from the exchequer.
