The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a comprehensive weather forecast covering all the regions in the country for the next five days.
In their notice, the weatherman indicated that the forecast covers from Saturday, September 14, 2024, to Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
“Most parts of the country are likely to be generally sunny and dry. However, a few areas in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley may receive light to moderate rainfall,” Kenya Met reported on the general outlook.
Nairobi
According to the weather outlook, Nairobi will be characterised by sunny conditions throughout the day followed by partly cloudy intervals in the evening.
Chances of residents experiencing rainfall are very minimal, Kenya Met explained.
Other areas within the Highlands East of the Rift Valley that will experience a similar weather pattern to Nairobi include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi Counties.
Nakuru, Kisumu and Bungoma
The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot Counties.
The weather in these areas is expected to be characterised by sunny intervals and showers accompanied by thunderstorms. In the evening throughout the five days, the weather will be partly cloudy.
Coast region
In the coastal counties of Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale, residents will have to bear with sunny intervals with high temperatures throughout the day.
However, chances of light showers have been predicted in some areas.
Other areas
South-Eastern lowlands (Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta Counties) will experience sunny intervals and partly cloudy weather in the evening. There are no chances of rainfall in those areas.
North-Eastern (Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo Counties) will also not experience rainfall for the next five days.
