Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen n Wednesday, August 14, 2024, held an inaugural meeting with the ministry leadership.
Murkomen took to his official X account to share the details of the meeting, which was attended by Sports Principal Secretary Peter Tum, and Youth Affairs and Creative Economy PS Ismael Maalim.

Murkomen says the meeting that was held at Talanta Plaza was also attended by Secretary Administration for Sports, and for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, CEOs of State Agencies, and Heads of Departments.
Murkomen on ministry’s vision
During the meeting, Murkomen says he emphasized the importance of teamwork in realising the ministry’s vision of making a difference in the lives of Kenya’s young people.
“To set the tone for the work ahead, I held an inaugural meeting with the leadership of the Ministry, including PSs Eng. Peter Tum (Sports) and Ismael Maalim (Youth Affairs and Creative Economy), Secretary Administration for Sports, and for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, CEOs of State Agencies, and Heads of Departments, at Talanta Plaza, Nairobi this afternoon.
“I emphasized the importance of teamwork in realising our vision of making a difference in the lives of our young people,” Murkomen stated.
Murkomen’s pledge
Murkomen has also pledged to work closely with the State Departments and Agencies in his ministry and other key stakeholders, to ensure the youth realise their full potential through the application of their abilities, skills, talents and knowledge.
He argues that the youth are integral in Kenya’s momentous journey to socio-economic transformation.

As Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, I will work closely with the State Departments and Agencies in the Ministry and other key stakeholders to ensure our youth realise their full potential through the application of their abilities, skills, talents and knowledge,” Murkomen said.

Murkomen is among the Cabinet Secretaries that swung into action immediately after being sworn in following their successful appointment.
Murkomen flew to Paris, France to watch the final two days of the 2024 Olympic Games, to cheer up Kenyan athletes as they fought for medals.
He assured the sports community of his support as Team Kenya jetted back following a successful contest at the Olympic Games.
