Murang’a Seal continued their impressive run at home by staging a comeback to defeat FKF Premier League giants Tusker FC 2-1 in a match held at St Sebastian Park.
The newly promoted FKF PL team had won three out of four home matches this season, with only Posta Rangers managing to leave their venue unscathed.
Murang’a Seal good start
Heading into the game against Tusker, Murang’a occupied the third spot on the league table with 17 points, having secured five wins in nine matches.
On the other hand, Tusker found themselves in 12th place, having only won three matches and coming off a recent defeat to Ulinzi Stars.
Tusker took the lead just two minutes into the game, with John Byamukama scoring after a rebound from James Kibande’s shot was cleared by the Murang’a goalkeeper but deflected off a defender.
Fourteen minutes later, Eric Balecho delivered a precise long pass that bypassed a Tusker defender, allowing Batts Awita to collect the ball, dribble past the goalkeeper, and slot it into the net.
Murang’a Seal seal win
Ten minutes after the equalizer, Awita netted his second goal, giving Murang’a a 2-1 lead at halftime.
The second half remained goalless as Murang’a Seal earned three points, taking them to 20 points in the league standings and closing in on league leaders Posta Rangers.
Meanwhile, Tusker suffered their fifth loss of the season.
