Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has reacted to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s apology to Kenyans and his boss President William Ruto.

In his statement, the MP expressed that he would only accept a personal apology in writing for his shareholding remarks which he says have caused him unfathomable pain and a feeling of worthlessness.

This comes amid a parliamentary vote that is likely to see the DP removed from office.

Amisi went on to state that the DP should forward his apology by Tuesday at noon, should he want to retain his position as the country’s second-in-command.

“Dear #Gachagua ,the only apology I will accept is to me personally and in writing. For segregating me as among Kenyans who have no shares in this country . This caused me unfathomable pain and a feeling of worthlessness. Please write to me by latest Tuesday at 12 pm or forever hold your peace,” he said.

“Tribalism from you and your boss #Ruto is the biggest malady in this country. The next apology is from the president himself on the same or else……..we must change Kenya!”

Earlier today, DP Gachagua apologised to his boss and Kenyans at large during a church service at the National Prayer Altar in Nairobi.

“I want to say to my brother, President William Ruto, if, in our zeal to work, I have wronged you, please find it in your heart to forgive me,” the DP said.

“If my spouse in her duties with the boychild has wronged you in any way, please find it in your heart to forgive her.”

Gachagua went on to state that his appreciation towards voters may have rubbed some people the wrong way and sank him into the whole he is facing.

“Probably you find that in appreciating our people and the support they gave the president and I, probably our utterances made you feel uncomfortable,” the DP said

“We did not mean bad; we were appreciating the people who voted for us. If you feel that we rubbed you the wrong way, please find it in your heart to forgive me.”
