Old habits die hard, the adage goes. And so is the habit of police officers from the Central Police Station arresting innocent people for allegedly loitering in the streets of Nairobi.

The fine for the “offence”, according to those who have fallen victim to the marauding cops, ranges from Sh1,000 to Sh2,000.

The officers reportedly claim the proceeds from the extortion percolates through all the way to the highest offices of the Kenya Police Service.
