Leaders congratulate President-elect Ruto after election declaration

Local and international political leaders yesterday congratulated Deputy President William Ruto for being declared the President-elect following the just concluded General Election.

 The leaders took to their social media handles to commend him for his win and for the campaign he put up while traversing various parts of the country.

 Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa congratulated Ruto and wished him well in his duties as President.

 “Congratulations to @WilliamsRuto on his election as the next President of Kenya. I have no doubt he will serve his country, his people and our continent with distinction,” said Mnangagwa.  Former Somalia President Mohamed Farmaajo also sent his congratulatory message to Ruto and wished him well while fulfilling his vision for Kenya.

 “I wish to offer my most sincere congratulations to the President-Elect of Kenya H.E. @WilliamsRuto and the people of Kenya following the successful conclusion of the elections. You truly ran an enriching, overpowering campaign. May God help you fulfill your vision for your country,” posted Farmaajo on his Twitter account.

 Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi congratulated Ruto saying his win is a win for all Kenyans.

“We have done it. Congratulations to the President-elect, his Excellency @WilliamRuto and team Kenya Kwanza,” said Mudavadi.

 Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala also congratulated Ruto saying he has no doubt that he will steer the country to greater heights.

 “Congratulations on your victory Dr William Ruto, President-Elect, Republic of Kenya. It is by God’s grace and the true will of the people, you were elected President. You have the ability to transform this country for the betterment of all,” posted Balala.

 Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo who lost in the August polls also congratulated Ruto saying: “Congratulations my brother. May our lord Jesus Christ guide you in this very high task entrusted to you by the people.”

 Senior counsel Ahmednasir Abdulahi also congratulations Ruto for his win.

 Outgoing Tharaka Nithi senator and Ruto’s chief agent Kithure Kindiki said the DP’s win is a clear indication that the country is free from anarchy.  “Kenya is free! Kenya will not be held hostage by people who always turn to anarchy when they lose elections. Not even the deep state can stand in the way of the sovereign will of the people,’ posted Kindiki.

 Former trade Cabinet Secretary Adan Mohammed congratulated Ruto for his win saying he was proud of him.

 Said Adan on Twitter: “Mr President – Elect the 5th! Congratulations on your election. Wonderful speech at Bomas. Proud of you and I know what you can do for this country going into the future! Mungu mbele.”

 Renowned hotelier Mohammed Hersi who congratulated Ruto asked Kenyans to go back to work as the elections were over.

 “I did concede yesterday as an Azimio supporter. Congratulations President Elect Hon William Samoei Ruto. Hongera and let us now go back to nation building. As always I choose to remain an optimist,” said Hersi. Outgoing Laikipia Woman Representative also congratulated Ruto saying: “The voice of the people is the voice of God.”
