The Kisumu Employment and Labour Court has upheld the impeachment of former Kisumu Speaker Onyango Oloo.
Justice Nduma Nderi said the impeachment was done in accordance with the law.
Nderi said Oloo was impeached by 42 members of the assembly which met the 75 per cent threshold.
In his suit, Oloo had sought for several orders that include reinstating him as speaker and the assembly to pay for his allowances and benefits.
During the cause of the proceedings, the assembly had asked the court to dismiss Oloo’s suit on grounds that he was removed from office procedurally.
In an affidavit filed by acting Speaker Elisha Oraro, the assembly had claimed that Oloo was served with a notice of impeachment but failed to appear in court to defend himself.
