Kenya Ferry services has clarified that a Kenyatta University bus that almost plunged into the ocean after failing to climb up the ramp had no passengers.
In a statement, KFS said its staff had helped stop the bus from sliding into the sea.
The company said all passengers had already alighted as per the KFS safety regulations.

A video that has gone viral shows the bus encountering difficulties while climbing the steep ramp immediately after disembarking from the ferry.
KFS workers and other ferry users are seen putting stone blocks to hold on the bus from sliding into the Indian ocean
The statements says the bus failed to power up the hill hence the incident.
“Our attention has been drawn to the video clip circulating in the social media platform yesterday depicting a Kenyatta university bus whose driver failed to maintain a safe speed to ascend up uphill as the bus disembarked from the ferry at the mainland ramp,” read the statement.
KFS said the bus driver was helped by the staff and managed to climb the ramp.
The incident comes two months after Mariam Kighenda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu died at the crossing channel when their vehicle slid off Mv Harambee and plunged in the ocean, leading to public outrage over the safety of ferries.
