You have all the rights to be disappointed in me – Mudavadi answers Uhuru

By , January 26, 2022

Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has come out to answer president Uhuru Kenyatta over a statement he made during a meeting with Members of Parliament from Western region at State House yesterday.

During the meeting, President Uhuru reportedly expressed his disappointment with the move by Mudavadi to join Deputy President William Ruto’s side ahead of the general elections.

“The President was categorical that Kenyans will be safe in the hands of Raila than any other presidential candidate. He told us that although he was unhappy with the move the two took, he will reach out to them,” the source told People Daily.

During a joint rally between Mudavadi and DP Ruto at Eldama Ravine in Baringo county, the ANC boss said that Uhuru had all the rights to be disappointed in his move but maintained that he will not change his stand.

“I have heard my friend Uhuru Kenyatta told leaders from Western that he was disappointed in me. I want to tell you (Uhuru), you have a right to be disappointed in me but Mr President, Kenyans are even more disappointed in you,” Mudavadi added.

Mudavadi further insisted that he will not join Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja movement.

It will be interesting to see if Mudavadi will stand his ground as the sources who were present at the meeting revealed that the Head of State said that he will not tire from persuading the ANC boss and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula to change their decision.
