Wiper unveils 10 candidates for elective seats in November by-election
By Joel Masibo, September 24, 2025The Wiper Party has unveiled its 10 candidates who will be vying for different elective seats across the country in the forthcoming by-election slated for Thursday, November 27, 2025.
The unveiling ceremony was presided over by former Deputy President and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka at the political outfit’s headquarters in Nairobi on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
The candidates who will be vying for different positions under the Wiper Party ticket are: Johannes Orodi Dovens Odhiambo, vying for the Ugunja parliamentary seat in Siaya County; Samuel Kombe Nzai for the Magarini parliamentary seat in Kilifi County; Dyone Mbare Oluoch for the Kasipul parliamentary seat in Homa Bay County; Antony Kyalo Kisoi – Mumbuni North Ward in Machakos County; Francis Kivuva – Narok Town Ward, Narok County.

Others are: Lopeyok Kiyoi Lokero Peter – Nanaam Ward, Turkana County; Shem Nyanumba Makori, Ekerenyo Ward, Nyamira County; James Obebo Kamanda – Nyamaiya Ward, Nyamira County; Kavali Munyoki – Kariobangi Ward, Nairobi County; and Alex Obare Nyantika, Nyansiongo Ward, Nyamira County.
In his remarks ahead of the November mini-polls, Kalonzo Musyoka expressed optimism in the candidates assigned to fly Wiper’s flag in the by-election.
”We believe that this group of aspirants ably represent our aspirations and vision for our country. Together we shall Komboa Kenya,” Kalonzo said. At the function, Kalonzo was joined by Wiper Party Secretary General Senator Shakila Abdalla, Executive Director Benson Milai, Deputy Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Kathiani Constituency Robert Mbui, Member of Parliament for Embakasi South Julius Mawathe, and the Head of our Elections Board Agatha Solitei, among other county leaders.
Upcoming by-election a critical moment
Meanwhile, Wiper Party’s candidate unveiling comes at a moment when the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson Erastus Edung Ethekon has declared the upcoming by-elections as a critical evaluation point for the commission under his leadership.
“As IEBC plans for these by-elections, know that the expectations are high, scrutiny will be intense, and you should rise to the occasion. The country is anxious and keen to evaluate the kind of commission in place under my leadership,” Ethokon spoke during a planning meeting with gazetted Returning Officers and staff at Sawela Lodges on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
