When I grow up, I want to be like Uhuru – Moses Kuria

By , March 8, 2022

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria is admiring President Uhuru Kenyatta’s political career saying he would want to serve people in various capacities as the president has done.

Speaking during an interview with NTV, Kuria said that he would wish to enjoy the massive support President Uhuru has enjoyed in the past nine years. He said that it is the massive support that has enabled the Head of State to win consecutive elections.

Kuria said that though the president has enjoyed massive support in the last three elections, it is high time he retired from politics on August 9 when his term comes to an end.

“President Kenyatta is very lucky; when I grow up I would want to be like President Uhuru who has been elected three times,” Kuria said.

Adding: “He is finishing his term and I am sure he will go home and Kenyans will vote for their next leaders. The president might have his preferred candidate in the coming elections which is his right but all we are asking for is a free, fair and peaceful election.”

The second-term lawmaker made the statement while giving his view on the bitter fallout between the president and his deputy, William Ruto.

He said that the fights between the two top leaders were saddening and traumatic to members of the Jubilee party, a situation he wishes is washed away by the coming elections.

“As an outgoing member of the Jubilee party, it is sad to see the ongoing sibling rivalry between the two leaders. Their fights have caused a lot of worry among party members but what is giving me hope is that we are left with a few days before we go to the elections,” he said.
