National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has congratulated the winners of the November 27, 2025, by-elections, urging leaders to prioritise national cohesion even as political competition intensifies.

In a message shared on X on November 28, 2025, he stated, “Congratulations to all victorious candidates in the bye elections. May our democracy flourish forever. We have a cardinal duty to protect our national unity and cohesion as we move towards the 1st world stage.”

His call comes after a high-stakes electoral exercise overseen by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), which conducted polls in one Senate seat, six parliamentary seats, and 15 county assembly wards. The elections drew 181 candidates, with some areas recording up to 45 percent voter turnout.
