‘We are firmly on course’ – Natembeya speaks out after meeting Sifuna

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has affirmed his partnership with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna following a close door meeting.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook account on Thursday, January 29, 2026, the Governor shared a light moment with the Nairobi Senator.

On his part, Natembeya assured his supporters that together with Edwin Sifuna, they were firmly on course.

Worth noting, this comes months after Sifuna publicly announced his position in working with the Tans Nzoia Governor while slamming critics undermining his performance.

“We are firmly on course,” Natembeya wrote.

Sifuna remarks on talks with Natembeya

Meanwhile, the meet up come six months after Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna came out affirming that he will not be stopped from engaging or associating with Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya despite political wrangles.

Addressing residents of Saboti on Sunday, August 3, 2025, during a women empowerment programme hosted by Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, Sifuna at the time stated that he had already informed the governor of his presence in the county and maintained that he would work with any leader who supports their political(ODM) agenda.

According to Sifuna, Governor Natembeya shares his vision of ensuring the current regime is not re-elected for a second term. He stated that as long as Natembeya remains committed to that cause, he is free to engage him politically.

This comes months after political activist Fanya Mambo Kinuthia weighed in on the challenges facing Edwin Sifuna within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

Speaking during a podcast aired on Saturday, July 2, 2025, he stated that Sifuna is currently being pressured to take positions that do not align with his personal beliefs.
