Wavinya Ndeti blasts Hassan Omar for referring to Wiper as a village party

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has come out strongly against UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar, calling him out for disrespecting the Wiper Patriotic Front by referring to it as a village party.

She made the remarks on Sunday, November 30, 2025, during a thanks-giving service at AIC Mukuni in Machakos County, where Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka joined local leaders and residents to celebrate the victory of Anthony Kisoi, who won the Mumbuni North Ward by-election under the Wiper ticket.

Wavinya, visibly firm and unapologetic, told the packed church that the party would not allow its efforts and history to be belittled, especially by leaders who, she argued, benefited politically because of Wiper.

Wavinya said the comments were meant to demean a party that had played a major role in shaping national politics and giving leaders a platform.

Number one wewe Omar ulionekana na Ruto kwa sababu ulipitia Wiper, kama haungepitia Wiper hata UDA haingekuona. Kwa hivyo patia Wiper heshima. Mkitupatia heshima mtapata heshima,” she stated.

The governor’s remarks were met with applause from the congregation, many of whom had turned up to celebrate the ward victory that reinstated Wiper’s strong presence in Machakos.

Wavinya used the moment to remind leaders, especially those who defected or distanced themselves from the party, that Wiper had a long legacy and a loyal base that continued to deliver wins despite shifting political winds.

The thanks-giving service also brought renewed energy to the Wiper camp after the party secured the Mumbuni North seat in the Thursday, November 30, 2025, by-election. Leaders present described Kisoi’s win as a strong message that the party remained influential not only in Machakos but across the region.

Kalonzo Musyoka, who was seated close to Wavinya as she spoke, nodded in agreement as the governor defended the party from what she termed unfair and dismissive remarks.

The Machakos governor said the by-election victory was a clear sign that residents still believed in Wiper’s leadership and development agenda, adding that attempts to undermine the party from outside would not succeed.
