UDA’s Mbeere North parliamentary by-election candidate Leonard Wamuthende has spoken publicly about the name change debate surrounding his candidacy, saying everything about his identity documents is in order and fully compliant with electoral requirements.

His remarks come after days of murmurs and online discussions questioning whether his name appeared differently.

In a post on X on Thursday, November 27, 2025, Wamuthende said the name issue had been blown out of proportion and clarified that he followed every legal step required before presenting himself to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
