Sudi advises Gen Zs to choose patience over urge of instant gratification
By Luke Oluoch, December 26, 2025Kapseret Member of Parliament (MP) Oscar Sudi has appealed to youths to drop the urge for instant gratification and instead cultivate the virtue of patience.
In a heartfelt admonition on Friday, December 26, 2025, Sudi encouraged the younger generation, noting that aggression or abrasiveness does not always yield the desired results in life.
Vurtue of patience
“I want to urge our young Gen Zs who believe in getting their desires met instantly: it’s not always necessary to push aggressively for what you need. At times, you can get what you want in life by being patient and waiting for it to come to you,” he remarked.
Stating the relevance of the advice to relationships, the lawmaker implored the generation to avoid pestering partners—particularly pressuring boyfriends—for lavish gifts, warning that such incessant demands could scare away potential marriage partners.
“Nowadays, many girls pressure their boyfriends into buying lavish items such as phones or other gadgets. This is not the right or wise approach. These people can notice your needs on their own, and you have to be patient and wait for them to act,” he said.
“Above all, making these demands too early can scare people off,” he added.

His advice mirrors that of Nairobi County employee Geoffrey Mosiria, who recently challenged parents and guardians to step up in their role of imparting guidance and direction to the upcoming generation.
Mosiria’s advice to Youths
“All young people truly need is guidance and the right information. Let us never get tired of sharing what builds them up,” he stated.
He further advised young people to make education their primary focus, describing it as the most reliable foundation for future success.
“And if they must fall in love, then let their books be their love story and their education be their lifelong relationship. When the time is right, everything else will fall into place. Let us guide this generation with wisdom, patience, and purpose because the future depends on it,” he added.
Mosiria made the remarks on December 9, 2025, as he gave credence to President William Ruto’s passionate calls to Gen Z to embrace the responsibility that comes with entering into the union of marriage.
