Sorry for chopper incident, It was not planned – Caleb Kositany to Raila

By , April 1, 2022

Soy MP Caleb Kositany has since come out to set the record straight after he was blamed for an unfortunate incident that saw the chopper of ODM Leader Raila Odinga damaged.

Kositany, alongside Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago, was accused by Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and the former Prime Minister for allegedly sanctioning the violence meted on them.

The lawmaker now claims that the chopper incident was not planned and that he only learnt about it on social media.

“With Raila,Junet and Babu at Mzee Kibor’s burial. Sorry about the chopper incident, it’s quite unfortunate. It wasn’t planned, just learnt about it on Twitter,” Kositany posted as he shared photos that captured him with the Azimio-One Kenya Alliance leaders.

Kositany’s statement came minutes after Raila Odinga posted a strongly-worded statement condemning the violence that was meted on him and his entourage.

The presidential hopeful accused an unnamed cabal of leaders of mobilizing, arming and paying youths to cause mayhem and disorder. Raila, who was in Kabenes in Uasin Gishu county to attend the burial of the late business mogul Jackson Kibor, claimed that youths attacked his chopper, destroying his air shield with rocks.

The Azimio-One Kenya supremo stated that Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandagoh and Soy MP Caleb Kositany were squarely to blame.

“For today’s unfortunate events, I hold Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandagor and Soy MP. Hon. Caleb Kositany responsible,” Raila’s statement read in part.
