In a statement shared on his social media pages on Friday, July 10, 2026, the vocal politician, who has spent the past year touring different parts of the country while campaigning for the top seat and expressing interest in the presidency, said his upcoming international tour will focus on mobilising resources for his presidential bid.

“After this weekend, I will begin my international tour next week to Germany, Poland, the Philippines in Asia, Canada and Spain in Europe. This tour will be about looking for financial support towards my presidential ambitions. Hapo mbele, safari ya kesho tunaanza leo,” Salasya wrote.

He further praised Salasya’s wisdom and powerful messaging, saying the young MP communicates with great humour and wit. According to Gachagua, Salasya had made his day, leaving him filled with joy and greatly enlightened.
The meeting comes days after the historic United Opposition rally in the Western region, where the MP hosted the opposition leaders at his Kisumu Ndogo home. He later took the leaders to his family home, where they greeted his mother.
During the visit, the former deputy president praised the lawmaker, telling Salasya’s mother that the MP had been bribed to vote in favour of his impeachment during the 2024 impeachment proceedings but had refused.

Gachagua further urged Mumias East residents to ensure Salasya retains his parliamentary seat, saying he would walk with him from county to county as they campaign for a united opposition victory in the 2027 General Election.
