Sakaja names Cabinet members, advisors
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has unveiled his County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) and advisors in different sectors.
Sakaja said the nominees should assume office by mid-November after undergoing vetting by the County Assembly.
“Today, we introduce the nominees for County Executive Committee Members for Nairobi City County Government. This team of men and women has been carefully selected to meet the challenge of the responsibility before them.
“This afternoon, I shall forward their names to the Nairobi City County Assembly, for approval, and we expect that they should be assuming office by mid-next month,” Sakaja said during a press conference at City Hall on Wednesday, October 26.

Charles Kerich who served as CEC for Finance and Planning in the last regime before resigning and joining politics has made a comeback in the same capacity.
Other nominees are Brian Mulama who has been picked to head Talent, Skills Development and Care docket, Patrick Mbogo (Mobility and Works), Stephen Gathuita Mwangi (Built Environment and Urban Planning), Ibrahim Auma Nyangoya (Boroughs Administration and Personnel), and Rosemary Kariuki (Business and Hustler Opportunities).

Also nominated are Maureen Njeri, Dr. Anastasia Mutethya Nyalita, and Suzanne Silantoi who will be the CECMs for Environment, Water, Food and Agriculture; Health, Wellness, and Nutrition; and Inclusivity, Public Participation, and Customer Service respectively.
“The two Sectors that we have just introduced; Boroughs Administration and Personnel, together with Business and Hustler Opportunities, will directly report to Deputy Governor Muchiri,” he added.
Dr. Jairus Musumba and David Njoroge have been nominated as the County Secretary and Chief of Staff respectively.
In the advisory role list are Lawrence Wambua who has been appointed as Economic Affairs Advisor, Elias Mutuma (Legal Advisor), Dr. Samora Otieno (Health Advisor), William Ndung’u ‘Fazul’ (Political Advisor), and Prof. Washington Yotto Ochieng (Mobility Advisor).
Others are John Mwangi Maina (Urban and Regional Planning), and Priscilla Mahinda (Private Secretary).
“This is the Executive team that we shall work with to make Nairobi a working city of Order, Dignity, Hope and Opportunity for all. Together, we shall make Nairobi work,” he stated.
