Sakaja, Bishop Wanjiru briefly clash during political rally in Westlands

There was drama in Westlands Constituency on Tuesday after supporters of Nairobi Senator Johnstone Sakaja and former Starehe MP Bishop Margret Wanjiru clashed.
The fiasco started when Sakaja invited Wanjiru to address an ANC, Ford-K and UDA joint rally at City Park.
When Wanjiru stood to talk, people believed to be Sakaja’s supporters heckled her.
The Bishop’s remarks that she had been sent by Deputy President William Ruto to address rally and she came with visitors (Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula) seemed to have angered a section of the crowd.
Sakaja calmed down youths who were heckling Wanjiru, insisting they were together under Kenya Kwanza.
“We are one team. We are doing clean politics. I respect Wanjiru because she is like my mother,” Sakaja told rowdy youths.
When Senator Kithure Kindiki stood to speak, he reiterated Sakaja’s sentiments.
“When you see Wetangula, you have seen Ruto, when you see Mudavadi. you have seen Ruto and Wetangula. We are a team and we are not discussing how we will share positions,” Kindiki said.
Sakaja is vying for Nairobi governor. He is yet to announce the party he will use.
Wanjiru, on the other hand, will try to capture the seat on a UDA ticket.
Others who have declared their interest to succeed Anne Kananu are businessman Richard Ngatia (Azimio), Agnes Kagure (Azimio) and Tim Wanyonyi (Azimio).
