Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has stated that the United States of America has started reaping from President William Ruto's recent state visit to Washington, DC.

Amisi has maintained that some of the deals Ruto signed in the US have put Kenya at war with the enemies of the US.

"Even before dust settled on my earlier statement on the US-Kenya aid pact. The US has started reaping from the cost of Ruto's White House dinner alone. The pay is immediate. Kenya is officially at war with the Americans' enemies. Renaissance needed urgently!" Amisi stated.

The Saboti MP was reacting to Kenya's recent move to agree to help the European Union in dealing with maritime crime suspects in the region, amid a rising threat from pirate activity and attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels.

The EU, which has a force operating in the Indian Ocean, had raised concerns over the insecurity which is also affecting ship traffic in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea.

The insecurity, the EU said, is disrupting international trade.

The EU asked Kenya for assistance in prosecuting suspected criminals caught in the region's waters.

Caleb Amisi on Kenya-US relations

Caleb Amisi on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, stated that the designation of Kenya as a non-NATO ally exposes the country to terror attacks.

The Saboti MP argued that Kenya will now be a proxy ground for geopolitical hegemonic power struggle and that the country will now be constantly hit by terrorist groups.

"Designating Kenya as a non-NATO ally has officially put us at the centre of global wars. Our country is now a proxy ground for geopolitical hegemonic power struggle. We are constantly going to be hit by organized terrorist groups, we have officially inherited America's enemies," Amisi said in the post.

He pointed out that the US will now be fighting their enemies on Kenya's blood, not theirs.

United States President Joe Biden pledged to designate Kenya as the country’s first key non-NATO ally in sub-Saharan Africa as President William Ruto made a state visit to Washington, DC, to deepen ties between the two nations.
