Ruto stole votes in 2013, 2017 – Kalonzo

By , April 18, 2022

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has accused Deputy President William Ruto of conducting “unfair” United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nominations, saying the exercise was marred by irregularities. He claims such irregularities were part of tactics used by Ruto to rig elections, adding that the DP rigged past presidential elections.

Speaking at Maili Tisa in Kajiado Central where he attended the endorsement of Wiper party Member of Parliament hopeful Moses Birisha, Kalonzo claimed that Ruto rigged elections in 2013 and 2017

He, however, distanced President Uhuru Kenyatta from rigging saying that Ruto used “dubious” means to rig elections without the knowledge of the President.

Kalonzo further warned Ruto against extending his “rigging tactics” to the 2022 polls, saying that a powerful team including the President is on high alert to stop the menace.

“During the 2013 and 2017 elections, Ruto stole our votes. We had won the elections with Raila. I have come to realize that it is Ruto who was rigging elections and not Uhuru.

“It is now clear and you have seen the menace manifest in the UDA party primaries even here in Kajiado, ” Kalonzo said.

The Wiper leader further said that the DP has been “looting” public coffers at the expense of suffering Kenyans.

“Ruto is not only engaging in elections malpractices but also looting public coffers,” he claimed.

Kalonzo rallied the Maa nation to support the Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya Coalition saying it has the best interest of Kenyans at large.
